Open Up Resources High School Mathematics

Keep your learning going all year long with this webinar series led by the authors of Open Up High School Mathematics!

Great Launch Routines (Oct 26)

Focused on MLRs and instructional routines that are often found in the Launch of a task. We will share, model and discuss the implementation of routines like Which One Doesn’t Belong, 3 Reads and others that often support a quality launch into a mathematical task

5 Practices in Practice (Dec 7)

Practice the 5 Practices through deliberate engagement with student thinking and student work. We will engage in the 5 Practices and reflect on in-the-moment decision-making that is part of the process in order to prepare to provide the most equitable learning experience possible.

Routine Discussions (Feb 8)

Focused on MLRs and instructional routines that are often found during the Discussion phase of lesson implementation. We will focus on Collect and Display, Stronger and Clearer, etc.

Promoting, Supporting, and Responding to Productive Struggle (April 19)

We will identify examples of productive struggle and the most common responses teachers make to productive struggle. Our discussion will focus on research that can be used to inform teacher practice and productivity in student learning.
